Mr. Lucchesi show the viewer how to create the sculpture of a young man’s portrait in terra cotta on this film. He begins by covering the armature with an aluminum can, news paper and plastic. This technique creates bulk without weight, one of many secrets he shares as the presentation continues. He talks about all the tools he uses including a wet cloth to smooth the head at the end. The viewer sees also what he does to the fired piece when it comes out of the kiln. From bare armature to finished piece, he explains and demonstrates all the techniques which have made him one of the world’s most respected sculptors.
